Collin & Denton Counties · independent Mercedes-Benz specialist in east Dallas
Frisco is the longest drive in our service area, so this page is honest about the tollway miles and specific about when a Frisco owner comes out ahead by making the trip.
Repairs covered by a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty, independent shop
Frisco
Almost nothing in Frisco predates the year 2000. Starwood, Newman Village and Phillips Creek Ranch on the west side, Richwoods and Panther Creek in 75035, Hollyhock and the Fields development toward US-380: the garages match the houses, with W206 C-Class, W214 E-Class, X254 GLC, X167 GLS, second-generation G-Class and EQ models in numbers you do not see elsewhere.
Those cars are mostly still in warranty, and warranty repairs belong at a dealer. Our Frisco business is the next layer: the 2015–2019 W205, W213, X253 GLC and W166 GLE that are now out of the factory window and reaching the mileage where engine mounts, camshaft adjusters, air struts and the first big brake jobs appear.
The commute is tollway-shaped. Hall Park, The Star and the Legacy campuses just over the Plano line keep many residents within ten minutes of home; the downtown Dallas contingent rides the DNT 30 miles each way. Our shop is roughly that trip plus a leg across LBJ, which is why most Frisco visits are planned around a specific repair rather than an oil change.
A Mercedes dealer sits a few exits down the tollway from Frisco, and another serves the US-75 side of Collin County. Frisco owners choose us for a second opinion on a four-figure suspension or transmission estimate, for a shop that explains what moves the number, and for continuity once the dealer relationship stops paying off.
Yes. Preston Road runs south from Frisco through Plano and north Dallas as a free arterial all the way to Northwest Highway; turn east, pass the Lake Highlands side of White Rock Lake, and drop into 75228 at Ferguson Road or Buckner Boulevard. It costs 10–15 minutes over the tollway and crawls through Preston Center at school times, but it avoids LBJ entirely.
The middle option is SH-121 east to US-75, then south on Central to I-635 east; only the SH-121 stretch is tolled. The pure tollway run, DNT to I-635, is fastest on paper and most variable in practice because everything funnels through the High Five. We try to turn Frisco cars around so the return is not at 5 pm northbound.
The 2015–2019 W205 and W213 share a short list. Engine mounts collapse earlier than owners expect, and the symptom is a shudder at idle in drive that feels like a transmission problem. The M274 four-cylinder and M276 V6 have camshaft adjuster complaints that announce themselves as a cold-start rattle; the later M256 inline-six carries a 48-volt starter-generator with its own fault codes.
On the SUVs the first big bill is usually air suspension. A seven- or eight-year-old W166 GLE or X166 GLS starts leaning overnight, the compressor runs longer to catch up, and eventually the relay or the compressor gives out. A strut is $1,100–$2,200 per corner and a compressor $700–$1,300; catching the leaking strut first is the difference between one line item and two.
Heat. A GLS that idles in the Legacy West garage, tows a boat to Lewisville Lake on weekends and sits in a Frisco driveway in August works its transmission cooler and air conditioning hard. On 722.9-equipped 2012–2015 models that shows up as a hot-shift flare, and the fluid and filter service at $350–$550 is the first and often the only step.
On the A/C side, Frisco cars built after about 2017 run R1234yf refrigerant, which needs its own recovery machine and costs $350–$550 to evacuate and recharge versus $189–$289 for R134a. Blend door actuators clicking behind the dash are the other common complaint on these newer interiors and run $350–$750.

The post-prepaid-plan reset for Frisco cars: brake fluid, combination filter, engine air filter check and full inspection at $349–$649.

W166 GLE and X166 GLS owners from Frisco usually arrive with one corner down overnight; we find the leaking strut or valve block before the compressor is damaged.

A $149–$229 session that reads the 48-volt, camshaft adjuster and engine-mount faults on 2017 and newer six-cylinders, with a written finding to take back up the tollway.

R1234yf service for Frisco cars built after 2017 is $350–$550; compressors run $1,200–$2,400 and are confirmed by pressure and current readings first.

For the 2012–2015 GLE, GLS and E-Class still in Frisco driveways, a fluid and filter service at $350–$550 heads off the conductor plate failure that otherwise follows.
How booking works
Covered for 2 years parts and 2 years labor, up to 24,000 miles, nationwide
Questions
No. Federal law lets you have maintenance done anywhere as long as correct parts and fluids are used and documented; we use the MB 229.5, 229.51 or 229.52 oil the engine calls for and itemize it. Repairs covered by the factory warranty should still go to a dealer.
Yes, and bring the dealer estimate. We measure ride height at each corner, soak-test the struts and valve block, and check compressor run time in XENTRY before agreeing. If the struts are the problem, each is $1,100–$2,200 here and covered for 2 years parts and 2 years labor, up to 24,000 miles, nationwide; if only a valve block is leaking, you spend $450–$850 instead.
Only for a wait-and-go job like a diagnostic or Service A at 1–1.5 hours, and even then budget two and a half hours door to door. For anything longer we agree a return date up front.
Pad and rotor thickness, tire tread and date codes, the service counter, stored faults and the cabin and engine filters, all of which the turn-in inspection scores. We reset the counter in XENTRY and give you an itemized invoice listing the oil specification for the lease file.
